Overview
This article describes how to configure a specific Active Directory domain controller (DC) in FactoryLogix Office, both for the login process and for adding Active Directory objects to the system. Specifying a domain controller prevents FactoryLogix from querying multiple controllers and reduces login delays.
Set a domain controller for Active Directory login
-
Log into FactoryLogix Office.
-
Navigate to System Configuration > Settings.
-
In the settings list, select the All category.
-
Press Ctrl+F to open the search box, then enter the word active.
-
In the Active Directory domain field, enter the domain controller in the format DC=<DomainControllerName>, then save your changes. FactoryLogix will now authenticate Active Directory logins against only this domain controller.
Set a domain controller for adding Active Directory objects
-
Log into FactoryLogix Office.
-
Navigate to System Configuration > Users and Roles.
-
Select Add, then select Active Directory Object.
-
In the Location field, enter the domain controller in the format DC=<DomainControllerName>. FactoryLogix will query only this domain controller when searching for Active Directory users or objects.
