Overview
By adding a registry key, you can configure FactoryLogix clients to use a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or IP address as the default Application Server address. This prevents users from having to manually enter the server address after upgrades or when the software is deployed on a terminal server.
Procedure
-
Open the Registry Editor on the client machine.
-
Navigate to the appropriate key location for the operating system architecture (see table below) and create a new Key (folder) named FactoryLogixSettings.
-
Inside the FactoryLogixSettings key, create a new String value and name it DefaultAppServerAddress.
-
Set the value data to the server name or IP address of the machine running the FactoryLogix Application Service.
-
Close the Registry Editor. The FactoryLogix client applications will read this value on the next startup.

Note
This setting has been verified for FactoryLogix Office and Operations. For ClickOnce-deployed applications, the client machine must have the necessary registry access permissions for the setting to be read.
The following FactoryLogix client applications check this registry value on startup: Office, Operations, Analytics, and Logistics.
