xLink services for FactoryLogix Online require the installation of an on-premise FactoryLogix SaaS Gateway at each customer site. The SaaS Gateway communicates with SaaS xLink services in the cloud. The SaaS Gateway is a collection of Windows Services which run on-premise in a SaaS deployment to act as the intermediary between the local network and the cloud.
The SaaS Gateway consists of four services:

FactoryLogix SaaS Integration Service (xTend Worker Service)

FactoryLogix SaaS Update Service (Handles software updates)

FactoryLogix SaaS Gateway Service (Label printing)
Note
The FactoryLogix SaaS Gateway is required for label printing when using FactoryLogix Online. For label printing, the FactoryLogix SaaS Gateway handles local communication with labeling software and management of on-premise xLink and xTend services.
