Flashing a new OS image on inForce 2.0

Issue

Under rare circumstances it may be necessary to flash a new SD card image of Windows IoT Core and the inForce application onto an inForce 2.0 unit. This procedure uses the Windows 10 IoT Core Dashboard to write the image to an SD card.

Prerequisites

• Windows 10 IoT Core Dashboard is installed. Download it from Microsoft if needed.

• A Flash.ffu image file has been obtained from Aegis Support.

• An SD card of at least 8 GB is available.

Resolution

1. Contact Aegis Support to obtain the Flash.ffu file.

2. Launch the Windows 10 IoT Dashboard.

3. Change the OS Build setting to Custom, then browse to the Flash.ffu file obtained from Aegis Support.

4. Insert an SD card of at least 8 GB, enter and confirm the desired password, select the checkbox to accept the license terms, then select Install. The dashboard writes the image to the SD card.

5. Remove the SD card from the computer and insert it into the SD card socket on the inForce PCB inside the unit.
