Issue
This article describes a known issue in which a panel or data set disappears from DataMiner in FactoryLogix Analytics. It provides steps to resolve the issue by clearing a corrupted application data folder.
Symptoms
When working in DataMiner, one or more of the following conditions may occur:
-
A panel that was previously visible no longer appears in the UI
-
A data set is missing from the DataMiner workspace
-
The layout does not reflect the last saved configuration
Cause
This issue can be caused by corruption in the FactoryLogix Analytics application data folder located in the Windows %AppData% directory. Corrupted files in this folder can prevent the application from correctly loading saved panel configurations. Another cause can be from a user accidentally closing panels in the UI, and there's no easy way to restore them other than deleting the folder.
Prerequisites
Before beginning this procedure, confirm the following:
-
You have access to Windows File Explorer or can navigate the local file system.
-
You have permission to delete files in your Windows user profile directory.
-
Any unsaved work in FactoryLogix Analytics has been noted. This procedure does not affect production data, but your panel layout configuration will be reset.
Note
This procedure affects only the local application configuration for the current Windows user account. It does not modify FactoryLogix server data, work orders, or any other production records.
Resolution
-
Save any work in progress.
-
Close FactoryLogix Analytics completely.
-
Confirm that no FactoryLogix Analytics processes remain running. If needed, open Task Manager and end any FactoryLogix_Analytics processes.
-
Open the Windows File Explorer.
-
In the address bar, enter the following path and press Enter, replacing <User> with your Windows username: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Aegis_Software\.
Tip
You can also press Windows + R, enter %AppData%, and press Enter. Note that %AppData% resolves to the Roaming subfolder. Navigate up one level to Local, then open the Aegis_Software folder.
-
Locate the folder that begins with: FactoryLogix_Analytics.exe.
Before following this procedure, confirm the complete folder name with your system administrator or Aegis Technical Support. -
Right-click the FactoryLogix_Analytics.exe folder and select Delete—do not delete any other folders in this directory.
Warning
Deleting this folder removes the locally cached Analytics configuration for your user account, including any saved panel layouts—this action cannot be undone. (Production data is not affected.)
-
Log into FactoryLogix Analytics.
-
Navigate to DataMiner.
-
Verify that the missing panel or data set is now visible.
The application recreates the application data folder automatically on startup with default configuration values.
Expected Outcome
After completing this procedure, FactoryLogix Analytics loads with a clean configuration. Previously missing panels should display. You may need to reconfigure any custom panel layouts you saved prior to this procedure.
If the Issue Persists
If the panel remains missing after completing all steps, contact Aegis Technical Support and provide the following information:
-
FactoryLogix Analytics version number
-
Windows OS version and Windows username
-
A description of which panel or data set is missing
-
Any error messages displayed in the application
