Change FactoryLogix services to run as a local or service account

Issue

On workstations with multiple users logged in, some FactoryLogix service connections may fail if the services are not running under the correct user account.

Resolution

Use this procedure to change the logon account for any FactoryLogix service.

Change the service logon account

1. Open the Windows Services Settings (Select Start, type services.msc and select Enter)

   1. All FactoryLogix Services start with “FactoryLogix”, so scroll down to the letter F

2. If the service is currently running, stop it.

3. Right-click the service and select Properties, then select the Log On tab.

4. Select This account, then select Browse.

5. Select Locations, select Entire Directory in the pop-up window, then select OK.

6. Enter the account name in the Enter the object name to select field, then select Check Names. If the name is valid, it will be underlined. Select OK.

7. Enter the account password in the Password and Confirm Password fields, then select OK.

8. Start the service.

9. Repeat this procedure for all FactoryLogix services that need to run under a different account.
